This wonderful native shrub or small tree, Chionanthus virginicus, is unbelievable in bloom in the late spring when it fills the garden with fleecy white flowers that are slightly fragrant. A very adaptable plant for full sun or partial shade, it usually reaches no more 15 feet in cultivation. Hardy in zones 4 to 9.
