> Mme Mouillere Mophead - trade gallon
The classic white mophead, Hydrangea macrophylla ’Madame Emile Mouillère’, grows to 6’ x 6’. What color doesn’t work with white? (Consult your detergent box.) This mophead has won awards for nearly a century & is considered the best white mophead macrophylla by those who know. (Dirr, Mallet, Lawson-Hall, Haworth-Booth.) Older, established plants show some ability to rebloom late season. Part shade. Mid season. Zones 6-9.
> Sister Teresa Mophead - trade gallon
A smaller shrub at maturity than ’Mme Emile Mouillere’, Hydrangea macrophylla ’Soeur Thérèse’ is another choice for a white mophead. Reputed to remain pure white, we have seen her tinged with pink as in Mouillere. But this is only on close observation. At any distance, white is what you see. Not as cold hardy as ’Mme Emile Mouillere’ in our experience, but fine nonetheless. Deciduous, for partial shade, in zones 6 - 9. Mature height about 5’ & as wide.
