Received 3 Let's Dance Rhythmic Blue Hydrangeas on Friday the 13th 0f Oct.2023. Put them out in a shaded part of a flower garden till I could plant them. All three came in in good shape. Planted them Oct. 17th in a garden that gets morning sun and afternoon shade; all day sun is too hot here in Arizona. They went thru shock and are now setting new leaves. Hopefully they will be established enough to make it thru the winter with a lot of mulch to keep them warm.
I planted them in the spring before they bloomed. They didn’t bloom earlier then my limelight’s, and didn’t stay white very long… it was maybe a month before they turned a dirty brown/green. All summer I have had not vivid fall like flowers, and from the road they look dead although up close the blooms are healthy flowers. The blooms are rather small… I am just praying that it is a first year issue and things will improve next year. Wish I planted regular limelight’s at this point.
I Purchased, two hydrangea, plants and at the same time also purchased two hydrangea plant plants from Lowe’s. The plants from Lowe’s are not doing so well but the ones from here are doing exceptionally well and seem to be thriving. No blooms yet but that will come in spring. Very happy with my plants.
It’s too hot here to mess with them. They are in large pots in the shade and looking good. As soon as it’s under 80 I will put them in the ground. They look marvelous
This is the second summer with my cascades. I had them in a mostly sunny spot and weren’t doing so well. The South Carolina sun and summers can be brutal. I moved them up on the porch where they get just a little afternoon sun, and they have greened up and growing like weeds now. I can’t wait for next spring to see them in all their glory!
I’ve had my “Let’s Dance Can Do” for several years now, and just love, love, LOVE it! Mine stays compact and re-blooms throughout the hot summers of South Carolina. The pink blooms are fluorescent and slightly. It’s one of my favorites in my garden.
